MCM #26

I really like doing the MCMs from Scrapbooksteals each week. This week there was no sketch, just a challenge to use ribbon. I have seen a few of the Mid-week-mojo (MWM) sketches lately that I absolutely loved, so I simplified one of them and turned it into a card. I have another one in the making too, this is fun!! :)
Here's the sketch

And here's my card. It's for a friend's birthday next month and needs to be mailed so I made a ribbon flower (kind of using the How To'sday tutorial, but I didn't have the right glue!) that is fairly flat, but still adds some dimension!

I have an ever growing pile of paper scraps and have decided that I need to start using more of them. So this card and the next several (at least all this month) will be made using only paper from my scraps. It makes it a bit trickier, but it's a fun challenge!
Have a great day!

Paper Wreath

I found this tutorial from DCWV for the cutest paper wreath. Then they made a tutorial for the paper rose on it too, so I knew I had to make it. Here's the pictures!

I'm really happy with the way it turned out! In the video they use the new Blossom Song paper stack, but I had the super cute  Blossoms & Butterflies stack, so I used it instead.
I think it will make a great spring/summer decoration! (Pssst - c'mon Spring!)

Spring's Official Invitation

Maybe if Spring has an official invitation it will show up? I'm ready for it!
I made my frame into a sign for Spring.
Here are the pictures!

Maybe Spring coming anytime soon is just wishful thinking, since this is what my backyard looks like at this very moment and there is more white stuff falling.
See that over there on the right side of this picture above? Yeah, that's my garden. I'm excited to get it all planted this year, but I'm going to have to wait a month and a half or so.
My husband was supposed to start tryouts this week for the baseball team he coaches. The weather kibosh-ed that. Oh well, maybe someday we will have grass and sunshine!

Please come soon Spring!!! We're all ready for you!

MCM #25

Here is the sketch for MCM #25

And here's my card. It's a birthday card for a lady I visit teach.
Pretty simple, but I really like the little daisy :)
Have a great day!

Yet another entry for the Imaginisce March Challenge (#3)

Yes, I really like doing this challenge, and this may or may not be the last time I make a card for it.
I just have a lot of fun with these products and this sketch!

I made a birthday card for my sister in law.

Close ups of the rhinestones I attached with my i-rock & flowers. This was my first time successfully making these flowers and I love them! I think they will be on a lot of my projects from here on out!

I used one of my Snag'em stamps on the inside of the card too and added a little colour. I think it finished it off nicely!

Here's the breakdown:
Paper (excluding card base and leaves) - Imaginisce Enchanted
Rhinestones: Imaginisce Hot Rocks
Ribbon: from my stash
Flowers & Leaves: cut out with my Silhouette machine
Outside Stamp: I'm pretty sure it was just a stamp out of the value bin at Micheals!
Inside Stamp: Snag'em stamp from Imaginisce Enchanted collection

3 Colours - pink, blue, green
3 patterned papers - Princess Promenade, If the Crown Fits, & Mirror, Mirror
3 embellishments -  flower cluster, ribbon, hot rock swirls

I think I will use this sketch over and over even after this contest is finished. I really love it!
Thanks for a fun contest and great sketch Imaginisce!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I really love holidays. Even silly little ones that I don't do anything to celebrate. Well, I guess we decorated the house a little bit. I think that is my favourite part :)
Here is a St. Patty's Day decoration I made. Sorry for all the close-ups, this blog's main purpose is to share things, but I like to document things for me too!

(*Note* if you looked at these pictures eariler, and now they are different, you are not crazy. The one section was bugging me so I re-did it!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Helping Japan

I just found this post and wanted to spread the word in whatever way I could. Cheri from "I Am Momma - Hear Me Roar" is offering a pattern and tutorial for this cute bag if you donate $8 or more to a humanitarian aid program. It can be any program, but just to make it easier, the link to the Red Cross can be found HERE .  And a link to my church's humanitarian aid program can be found HERE.

This is a great cause, and as a bonus you get a super cute pattern and tutorial. Post this on your blog or link to Cheri's post on your facebook page to help spread the word so we can make as big of a difference as possible!
To see the full details, visit I Am Momma - Hear Me Roar.

Who took the cookies ...

We have a few weddings we are invited to this weekend, so I wanted to make some personalized gifts for them.
Here is a cookie jar for one of the couples. I used vinyl and my Silhouette. I had a friend over who helped me decide on all the details, we had fun!

I hope they like it and can get some use out of it!

MCM #24

It's Monday again, which means it's time for another Monday Card Madness! (MCM) Details can be found here.

I needed a card for a bridal shower tomorrow, and was happy that the sketch worked well for it!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I hope she likes it!

Pattern Binder

I've had this project in mind for a while and ordered specific patterned paper to make it with. Well, the store didn't send the paper I wanted so I had to use some I had on hand (I didn't want to bug them for 2 sheets of paper!) I'm actually glad they messed it up, because I really like the way it turned out, I think it's much better than what I had originally planned!
Okay, so you're probably asking what "it" is by now. I have been using a lot of patterns that I find online and they were starting to take over my craft room, so I got a binder to organize them all in. But of course I had to make it pretty first! So here it is:

The binder is sitting funny in this picture so I could see both pieces, but the skinny piece is on the spine.
I used my Silhouette to cut out all the shapes and letters (yay for free shapes and the trace feature!) and then added the thread and needle on the spool (if you click to enlarge the picture, you can see it better)
Then I used my i-rock to add some rhinestone swirls. :)

Now for the "boring" part. I put all my patterns into page protectors with their pictures and instructions, and labelled them so I can always find the one I want! (sorry for the awful picture)
