MWM #33

Here's the 2-page sketch for MWM #33

And here are my 2 pages! I added in one more picture, because you know, 11 pics isn't quite enough!
You can click on the pics to enlarge them if you'd like to read the journalling.
Hopefully the sun will come out someday so I can take decent pictures and not have to edit them to death to make the colours close to true!

I was a little nervous to attempt a 2-pager with this many photos, but it was so fun to do! I'm ready to try another double!

I love having these MWM sketches to turn to for ideas. It makes everything much less intimidating!

MCM #34

Hello!

This is going to just be a quick post about the MCM!
Here's the sketch

And here's my card.
It's for someone special, but she hasn't received it yet, so it's top secret! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

MWM #27

I am not going in order with the MWMs for now, just because I am so new to this. I am picking the ones that I think I can do, and do a good job of! I want to start doing them in order, and hopefully that isn't too far off!
Here's the sketch

And here is my page
It's hard to tell from this picture, but the swirls are kraft paper that I sprayed with Glimmer Mist to give them some shimmer. And the photo on the page really is good quality, I just couldn't get a good picture of it on this rainy day!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my Dad's birthday, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't read my blog, so I think it's safe to share the cards I made for him before he gets them!

I used 2 of the MCM sketches to do them. The first one is MCM #32

When I edited the colours on this one it made the stamp lighter than it really is!

The Start of Something New {& addictive!}

Well it's official. I made my first scrapbook page today. I know, I know, I have probably told many of you that I had absolutely NO interest in ever making a scrapbook. I was completely serious. But then I found Scrapbook Steals and started buying things to do other crafts with. You know the weekly MCMs that I post? Well they have weekly MWM (Mid-week mojo) for scrapbooking layouts too. I've been looking through the layouts that everyone posts for quite a while now, and I've slowly been changing my mind. At first I thought I'd just do a few mini albums, but then decided I wanted to do full out 12x12 albums. the sketches that are posted to SS make it a whole lot easier for me to decide what to do after I pick a picture!

I took my inspiration from the sketch from MWM #34
Here it is! (yes, the journalling tag is edited!)

I am sure there will be lots more to come! I am pretty excited about it!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! I just wanted to share the cards and projects I've been working on. I can safely share them now that Mother's Day is over! :)
First up: the cards and candy boxes for my husband's Grandmas.

I made the cards and boxes with my Silhouette, and added hot rocks to each with my i-rock.
We filled the boxes with some yummy chocolate caramels.

Next, the cards for our moms.
This one was for my Mother in law. I used my Silhouette and glimmer mist. It was lots of fun!

This one was for my mom.
I used my Silhouette and glimmer mist on this one as well, and I just love those paper roses. I want to cover everything with them! The card base is white-core cardstock that I embossed and then sanded to expose the embossing.

And here are the gifts for our moms!
This one was for my mom. They are photo holders for pictures of their grandkids. I printed off little pictures of each of the kids as well. I followed the directions found here and here. The paper is mod-podged on the blocks, and then I hot-glued the ribbon on. The lettering is vinyl cut with my Silhouette, and I attached the gems with my i-rock.

And this one is my Mother in Law's.

5 Years!

My husband and I have been married for 5 years today! It really has gone so fast, I guess it's true that time flies when you're having fun!
I just wanted to share the card I made for him. I usually have so much trouble making masculine cards and I feel like every card I have ever made him is mushy and lovey-dovey. So I made him a fun one this time around! It also meets the requirements for the Imaginisce May Challenge and Scrapbook Steals MCM #31! Yay!

The front of the card.

I decided to use the Imaginisce Animal Crackers collection. I love the colours in it!
I stamped the base cardstock with a white chalk-ink pad and the Imaginisce ticket stamp. The blue paper is actually part of the packaging for the canvas stickers, it's just too cute to throw away! (& I love the glossy finish on it!) I also used the Life is a Circus Stamp from Imaginisce for my sentiment & added some gems with my i-rock. The monkey is a canvas sticker, and the tickets are from the border strip, I just cut out the ones I wanted to use.
I also used pop-dots to add some dimension to the layers.

The inside. Sorry the picture isn't so clear, I had to use my point & shoot camera for this one and it wasn't cooperating with me!
I used the monkey snag'em stamp on white cardstock and coloured her in and cut it out. I love that there are boy & girl monkeys in this collection because it works perfectly for this! What a cute monkey couple ;)
I also used my Silhouette to sketch the writing. It says "And there's no-one else I'd rather enjoy it with! I love you! Happy 5th anniversary!"

Thanks for stopping by!
