Halloween and Thanksgiving Cards {MCM #105 & #106}

Oh my goodness it has been a while! I haven't been doing very much crafting lately, hence my huge lack of blogging. I am expecting and while I haven't necessarily been sick, I just don't have the energy I wish I did! We were very busy this summer and I think I only made two cards the whole summer! I have made a few more cards since then and I will post most of them soon, but I haven't done anymore layouts yet.

On to the cards! My friend had a crop group at her house last night and invited me. I was only able to stop by for a few hours but I got 3 cards made! It was a lot of fun!

And here is one more card I made without a sketch. I have really been wanting to try to wet emboss on a transparency, so this was my chance! It worked really well!

Bundle of Cards {MCM #86}

I volunteered to make a bundle of cards for a church auction. Since they are pre-made, I just decided to do a good mix of occasions that everyone needs cards for.
I also made a matching envelope for each card.

"Hope You're Better Soon" Card

A simple "Get well soon" card for a friend.

My inspiration for this card came from my friend Karen who made a similar card with little bandaid stamps.
I don't think that particular card is on her blog, but you can check out her other great creations {here}!

Birthday Cards! (MCM 63 & 67)

I have been really bad at making and getting cards to people for their birthdays lately. I am going to try to be better this year, and here is my first batch of cards for some of the birthdays in January (this is a crazy birthday month, it seems!)

The Details

Here is a page I did with some of the pictures of the "details" of our wedding.

No sketch for this one. The background has some faint glimmer misting on it (the picture shows it more than you can see it in real life) The silver flourishes are stamped and embossed, and the small "pearls" are imaginisce hot rocks.

Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I made for my brother-in-law

I double embossed this one too. But I did the wet embossing differently so it added just a spattering instead of an even coat. After I embossed it, I used a brown ink pad randomly across the front of the card and did some mild distressing. I really like the rugged look & feel of the card!

It's for my Mother in Law. This was the first time I had used glitter embossing powder and it's not at all what I thought it was!

A Quick Card

I just wanted to share a 15 minute card I made today. It's simple, but I'm excited about the technique I used!

I started out by dry embossing the front of the card using my Sizzix Texture Boutique. Next I used a VersaMark ink pad and dabbed it all over the front of the card so that all the raised portions were inked. I used clear embossing powder and a heat tool on the ink, and this was the result! I am sure this has been done before, but I just thought of it tonight and am really excited to play around with it some more! I love the texture and the shine! The sentiment is also embossed with VersaMark and clear powder.
